Rules of Conduct

Respect and Politeness

  1. MySpin automotive community is a safe and constructive space to discuss cars and related subjects. In order to keep this a fun place for all community members, there are a few ground rules that must be followed for all methods of communication;
  2. It is okay for users to disagree with one another, but opinions must be expressed in a reasonable and polite manner. It is important to maintain an atmosphere of civility and respect, so that all voices may be heard;

Constructive Communication

  1. All communication, whether between personal users, business users or MySpin moderators, must be constructive. Posts without constructive commentary can distract from the topic at hand, reduce the visibility of valuable communication, and discourage others from participating in the conversation;
  2. Things to avoid:
    • Off-Topic Commentary: Don't post topics or replies unrelated to a subject. Posts like these are unlikely to be seen by the intended audience and can spawn non-productive discussions, as well as split otherwise useful discussions into multiple channels;
  3. Spam: Do not post communication lacking in meaningful comments or posts that do not contribute directly to the conversation. Some examples of this include: +1, first, bump, /agree, etc. People, who spam posts or comments leading to non-cars subject or repetitive information, also fall into this category;
  4. Images: Posting single images or animated GIFs instead of engaging in discussion is not allowed. Images will be deleted and users may be banned for repeated offenses. Please note that using images to support your discussion is fine, as long as they follow the community rules (no adult content, defamation, racism, etc.);
  5. Cross-posting: Don't post the same post or comment repeatedly and/or across multiple sections in an attempt to gain attention for an issue. If a conversation is relevant to multiple groups, players may post a link to the main conversation in no more, than two additional forums;
  6. Naming/Accusing: Openly accusing another user or car club of misbehavior is not permitted. You may discuss the type of behavior at issue, but specifically naming individuals or clubs is not appropriate. In cases of exploiting, harassment, or other violations of conduct, you should use the report tools instead of engaging with the user.

No Trolling or Personal Attacks

  1. Trolling and attacking others, in any form, is not allowed. Trolling means posting with the intent to provoke an emotional response from another user.;
  2. Examples include:
    • Non-constructive feedback or comments;
  3. Personal attacks: Do not insult, degrade or criticize any person or group of people. Personal attacks are hurtful and destructing to any useful discussion. Examples of personal attacks include calling someone stupid, saying "you suck," "I wish you would die," or "you should be fired";
  4. Attacks on groups: Attacking groups of people, companies, or user locations, including, but not limited to, home countries, is prohibited;
  5. Intolerance/Hate: Attacks specifically regarding race, religion, or sexual orientation are grounds for immediate account suspension or banning;
  6. Excessive Reporting of Posts: Using the Appeal tool to draw attention to a specific cause, individual, or to bypass a forum suspension or a ban is considered trolling, particularly if used frequently for this purpose;
  7. Accusing Others of Trolling: Calling someone a troll or accusing them of trolling can also be a form of trolling.
  8. If you feel someone is behaving in a manner that violates the rules, please use the Appeal tool on the user profile header. Do not engage the person exhibiting these behaviors, as this is often the very response and attention they are looking for.

No Profanity

  1. The use of profanity is prohibited. Please, be respectful of your fellow users and do not use this sort of language.

Some Actions May Cause Immediate Suspension of All Site Privileges

  1. There are some actions severe enough to result in immediate temporary or even permanent suspension of posting privileges without prior notification. Serious or sustained offenses may result in suspension of the user's site account;
  2. Examples include:
    • Threats against anyone or any group;
  3. Viruses, malware, worms, or Trojans;
  4. Sexually explicit content;
  5. Sharing personal information about MySpin administrators, moderators, or any other individuals;
