Standard Body 2016 BMW M2 Taken Out on the Northern Loop
Worldcarfans publication got its hands on images of the charged-up BMW M2 coupe test prototype, whose global premiere is to take place this September on the Frankfurt motor show. The images feature an automobile during Nürburgring trials with aerodynamic elements that, as it seems, will be featured on the stock car as well.
According to preliminary data, the novelty will be fitted with a completely new 3-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged engine with the 400-hp capacity. The aggregate will be able to work together with a 6-step mechanical gearbox or 7-range automatic 2-clutch gearbox.
The vehicle will go from head start to 100 kph in 4.4 seconds – 0.4 seconds faster, than the rear-wheeled 326-hp BMW M235 coupe. Another source claims that the car will be able to achieve the mark at just 4.2 seconds from start.
The company will first bring just the rear-wheeled M2 variant onto the market. It will be fitted with an electronically controlled differential with a 100% blocking. Later appearance of a modification with a four-wheel transmission is not excluded.
