Alpina Has Presented the Fastest BMW in Its History
Alpina has renewed its own BMW M6 Gran Coupe sedan version that is called B6 xDrive Gran Coupe. The manufacturer claims that the four-door vehicle is the fastest model up to date in the history of the company, which by the way works on Bavarian brand’s cars’ upgrades.
The standard BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe sedan has a 4.4-liter V8 engine with two turbines that develops up to 450 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
The novelty received a 4.4-liter twin-turbine 8-cylinder that develops 600 hp and 799 Nm of torque. This is 60 hp and 67 Nm more, than that of the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe of the 2015 model year. The engine works in pair with the readjusted eight-step automatic gearbox that was upgraded and tested along with the transmission’s manufacturer, German company ZF.
The sedan can accelerate from start to 96 kph in just 3.6 seconds, and its maximum speed is limited by electronics at the 322 kph mark.
Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe is fitted with a different radiator grill, modernized front spoiler and a modified hood. Besides, the sedan got equipped with LED headlights, Alpina exhaust system with an adjustable sound volume, firmer springs in the front, and a readjusted adaptive suspension.
The new car also received Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres of 255/35 and 295/30 sizes in the front and in the back, respectively, as well as branded 20” light alloy disks. Moreover, the sedan got fitted with highly efficient brake mechanisms with 374 mm and 370 mm disks.
Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe orders will start getting received in the USA in March. Novelty’s price has yet remained undisclosed. The price for the 2015 four-door car starts at the mark of 117,300 USD.
