Porsche 918 Spyder vs McLaren P1: a win for Germany in Laguna Seca
Motortrend has finally compared the latest hybrid hypercars: although Ferrari refused to take part to the test, the McLaren P1 turned up with 903 hp and 900 Nm of torque, while the 918 Spyder covers the power gap(it “only” has 877 hp) with 1275 Nm of torque and 4WD.
Randy Pobst drove both cars in Laguna Seca: he says that on this track you really need to get power down as soon as possible, that’s why the heavier and less powerful 918 is the winner.
The more powerful and lighter P1 did in 1:30.71, but the 918, with extra torque and 4WD, made it in just 1:29.89.
