Nissan GT-R Supercar Establishes a Drag Racing Record
1,320-hp Nissan GT-R coupe that was specially prepared for drag racing by the American atelier Extreme Turbo Systems has passed 402 meters in 7.49 seconds. Output speed has reached 304.3 kph. The lap’s video is available on YouTube. Carscoops publication has noted that the vehicle managed breaking the previous drag racing record among custom-built cars.
The lap took place at the TX2K motor show on the Royal Purple Raceway speedway in Houston. Result fixation hasn’t been conducted by any Guinness Book’s representatives. The car broke the record of another Nissan GT-R – AMS and Alpha & Omega, which passed ¼ miles in 7.7 seconds in 2014.
Global drag racing record among standard cars belongs to McLaren P1. In 2014, the super hybrid passed a 402-meter distance in 9.8 seconds. The second place is owned by Porsche 918 SPyder (9.8 seconds), and the third is occupied by Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (9.9 seconds).
